At the start of each year all we hear about are resolutions, whether they are to lose weight (again), drink less or something more unique. For me, I prefer to use the term ‘goals’.
A goal is something to strive towards and it’s not a massive deal if it’s not met. By making realistic, small goals, it makes them more achievable and makes you feel good to check them all off.
So here are my writing goals for 2021:
1. Enter at least 9 out of 12 Furious Fiction competitions
2. Work further on my manuscript and submit to agents or publishers
3. Enter at least 4 short story competitions
4. Write at least 500-1000 words of my new book idea (This is quite low but achievable and basically means one night a week after work.)
As you can see, my goals are small, achievable and realistic. I hope that I can do above and beyond these goals.
What are your goals for the new year? Also does anyone else find it weird to write 2021?
